摘要

In part I of this paper, a mathematical model was developed to analyse the transient behaviour fo a four stage high-pressure reciprocating compressor in which the first nad fourth-stage pistons are ocnjugated but split. In this paper, the model has been used to determine how to minimise the impact stresses involved in such an arrangement. It is shown that by appropriate piston design and choice of piston material, selection of the optimum stroke and volume of the discharge system as well as the electric motor, split-conjugate pistons cna be used in high-pressure multi-stage compressors.
