The use of concrete families in the control of concrete

Concretes that can be reliably or safely related to each other can be grouped into families and the combined data from the family used in production and conformity control. Samples for testing are taken at random from the family members being produced and the results from these tests are transposed into an equivalent value of the Reference Concrete. The transposed data are then used in the production control system. For a given rate of testing, the use of pooled data in the production control system results in detecting significant changes more rapidly and, consequently, mroe rapid action to respond to these changes in quality. Concrete families work with any control system.
