This paper presents some mechanical and physical properties of structural lightweight aggregate concrete. The experimental program consists of casting and testing of twelve different lightweight concrete mixes. Leca, vermiculite, and Polystyrene foam are selected as lightweight aggregates in this work. The measured properties include density, compressive strength, flexural strength, bond strength, splitting strength, and stress-strain relationship. The test results showed compressive strength up to 32 MPa. On averae, the results of 28-day compressive strength were 23, 16, and 18 MPa for mixes prepared with leca, vermiculite, and polystyrene foam respectively. In general, by using a suitable lightweight concrete mix, it is possible to attain moderate strengths and to use it economically for structural purposes.
