摘要

Multiple catalytic reactions usually proceed through an exceedingly complex network of elementary surface steps involving the reactants, intermediates, and products. Thus, reaction mechanisms proposed in the literature are based mostly on shrewd guess work. a knowledge of the actual surface mechanism involved in a catalytic reaction system is, however, crucial to the determination and detailed understanding of its kinetics. It is, therefore, of fundamental importance to have a systematic and rigorous way of determining all of the possible mechanisms for a given catalytic reactions as the starting point.
