The outlet overflow system from the Oslo's underground sewerage tunnel system has been constructed to handle excess flows to the main sewage treatment plant at VEAS, Slemmestad. The Lysaker outlet overflow system consist of a 190 m long access tunnel, a 22 m long intake shaft, a 611 m long sub-sea outfall tunnel and a 18 m long inclined outlet shaft. The sub-sea tunnel has a cross sectional area of 19 m~2 and the outlet shaft 10 m~2. The deepest elevation of the sub-sea tunnel is -74 m.a.s.l. The inclined outlet shaft towards the seabed of the Lysaker fjord has a submarine breakthrough at elevation -25 m.a.s.l.
