The Norwegian Rock Mechanics Society (NBG), has initiated a project that attempts to prepare a streamlined procedure in numerical modelling in rock engienering, with particular emphasis on the formulation of input parameters. This article presents the project, which is currently in an early phase, the motivation for its implementation and the goals to be accomplished.
