Cooperative multithreading: experience with applications

摘要

This paper reports on our experience with cooperative multithreading (CM) as an alternative to the general concurrent programmin execution model (CP). It seems that CM has not gained much popularity. Our work argues that Cm is viable and is worthy of further exploration. We discuss key tradeoffs between the models, our initial experience writing several standard CP applications as CM programs, and future directions for our work.
