The role of biogenic VOCs in atmospheric photochemitry is still unclear but presumably important.Over recent years several steps have bene mde to reduce uncertainties in the quantificaiton of biogenic VOC emissions in Europe.However ecosystems in southern Europe ar still poorly characterised in relation to their VOC emissions.
