Abstract: The reflection-back-to-the-fiber SNOM under shear-forcecontrol with sharp and cold uncoated tips providesreliable submicroscopic resolution on rough surfaceswithout topographic artifacts. The high lateralresolution is the result of a sudden increase inreflectivity when the tip goes close to the surface atabout 50% vibration damping. This technique has beentested for samples of piratical importance in the fieldof organic colorants and for Raman spectroscopy.!13
