Langmuir Blodgett films of 2-docosylamino-5-nitropyridine were fabricated and characterized as electro-optic waveguides by inserting them in a hybrid glass/organic Four Layer Guide. Electro-optic modulation of laser diode light was obtained by guided mode interference in the Four Layer Guide, with no need for a Mach Zender configuration of the device. The r_(22) coefficient was measured from the EO-induced modulation of the output signal: it was 11 pm/V at λ = 849 nm, in good agreement with the values reported in the literature for the case of similar organic compounds.
