The paper deals with the prospects of using pulsed multifrequency chemical laser on chain reaction of fluorine with hydrogen/deuterium for remote analysis of aerosol and gaseous impurities in atmosphere. Laboratory studies resulted in compact, safe and reliable laser modular design with built-in lamp photoinitiaton system and automated fast leak-in system removing the instability problems in reagent mixing and filling of active volume. Operative laser module emits with nearly diffractional divergence in 3μs pulse up to 1kJ of energy distributed over 50 lines in 2.7-4.2μm spectral interval overlapping with one of atmospheric windows. Laser performances make possible to obtain all information necessary for atmosphere analysis in one pulse on path lengths up to several tens kilometres. Available wavelength dependences of aerosol backscattering and gas absorption show promises of the laser and wavelength range for spectral identification of dangerous impurities in atmosphere.
