A new class of optical resonators for high power free electron lasers is defined and described. The special geometry of the resonator's mirrors allows for special field distribution in the resonator's volume. The resonator is an open one characterized by the fundamental mode having ring distribution on the cavity mirrors and focused distribution in the center of the cavity between the mirrors. Such distribution is advantageous for electron outcoupling of the radiation power from free electron laser and diminishing the required level of intracavity radiation intensity.
