Starving of soderberg cells from anode paste before replacement to prebaked anode cells

Egyptalum has made an extensive program towards developing its technology of changing Soderberg cells to prebaked cells.During the period of replacement,the feeding of anode paste to hte anode casing was stopped for a different periods of time according to a specific program.The performance of selected cells has been studied before the shutdown.the maximum non-charging days extended to 37 days without any adverse affect on cell performance.Energy consumption and the economic benefits have been studied for one pot line.
