Assessment of lateral attenuation of aircraft noise based on F-15 ACTIVE aircraft flight test data

The ensemble-averaged one-third-octave spectra of a well-controlled F-15 ACTIVE aircraft flight test were used to define the lateral attenuation. ^Major characteristics of lateral attenuation were identified and the degree of the attenuation was also defined. ^The results were compared to the ANOPP prediction code and a modified version of SAE AIR 923. ^Reasonable agreement was found between data and prediction. ^(Author)
