Long Distance Experiences between Japan and Chile - a complete technical overview

This paper will explain the technology of Multicast Backbone (Mbone), and give a quantitative analysis of the current Network between Chile and Japan. First the Mbone technologies - including the hardware layer, the communication protocols, and the software layer- will be described in detail, and its general implementation and use. Secondly, show the results of our tests measuring the Mbone system network between AccessNova Laboratories at the University of Chile, Global Information and Telecommunication Institute at Waseda University and NTT Multimedia Network Laboratories showing its implementation, working analysis, and problems involved in the different networks implementations. Finally, our conclusions and future development of our joint venture work.
