摘要

Mesophase sphere-containing pitch with 10μm sphere was prepared through heat-treatment of isotropic pitch. The pitch was spun into fibers easily at around 290°C. This fiber had unique texture and properties (small domain, and higher compressive strength) compared to the conventional mesophase pitch-based fiber. It is well known that the mechanical properties depends strongly on the structure and texture of carbon fiber. Texture of fibers can be controlled by nozzle shape and carbonization conditions. In the present study, the structure of this fiber investigated by changing the spinning, carbonization, and graphitization conditions.
