摘要

A new S-R finite deformaiton theory, first proposed in 1979 by Chen, has significantly developed in recent years and helped address problems related to the large deformation prlblem in the mining industry, geology, surveying and other fields. When a body undergoes a large deformation, the coordinate line embedded in the strained body transforms and initial linear orthogonal coordinate system becomes an arbitrary curvilinear coordinate system. In order to get better understanding of this new theory applied in the curvilinear coordinate system, the tensor method of describing the plane rolling of rigid object is emphasized in this paper.
