Summary form only given. In most works of adaptive control forpneumatic servo systems, the systems are considered as deterministicones. However, since stochastic noises are present in existing pneumaticservo systems, the pneumatic servo system can be considered as astochastic one. This paper presents the design scheme of a generalizedminimum variance type adaptive pole-placement control for pneumaticservo systems. Existing pneumatic servo systems contain stochasticdisturbances such as observation noises. Therefore, the proposed designscheme is effective under the practical situation. The effectiveness ofthe proposed design scheme is confirmed by experiments using theexisting pneumatic servo system
