An an alluvial river plain, the dimension of caving as strip caving, curve caving and omega caving can classify the bank caving of lower Yantze river. The whloe caving process is a sediment transportation process from beginning to the end. The process is related with flow condition, geological condition, sedimentation slope and topography of caving site. It is emphasixed the to protet the toe scouring is the key point of reventment design. The ote part of revetment should be thicker than upper part.
