Restoration techniques for urban strueams

This paper describes three urban bank stabilization projects (i.e., Concord Park, Inskip park, and Mary Vestal park) ocated in the Knoxville, Tennessee metropolitan area. Together, these porjects encompass the application of a range of soil bioengineering and other bank stabilization techniques. They also allow for comparing and contrasting these bank stabilization techniques under varying site conditions including distinct spatial scales ranging from a large, navigable reservoir to a small, unnamed urban tributatary. Following a brief description of the projects' sponsorship, funding, and unique challenges, a detailed description of each proejct is presented that includes site chararacteristics, techiques applied, and materials used.
