The operation process of installations being components of the system ,,shi" strongly depends on its operation process. Therefore, as a first step, the ship operation process modelling and identification should be included into their safety models. The paper is concerned with the modelling of this process and presents acieved results necessary in safety analysis of the ship installations. A very wide spectrum of threats is related to the ship operation process. Collisions, grounding, fire are typical ones. These threats depend strongly on the states of the ship operation process. It means, they depend on the ship operation process interpreted as the set of its operation states changing in time.
