摘要

Although some enzymes may have therapeutic potential against tumor, their drawbacks as protein nature limits development as practical drug, i.e., low bioavailability, immunogenecity, short plasma half life, etc. Previous studies from this laboratory and others showed that chemical modification of enzymes and/or proteins with bio-inert polymers such as poly(ethyleneglycol) (PEG) improved these shortcmings adequately for the practical level.
