Abstract: Values of the ratios of Rayleigh surface wave velocity and transverse bulk wave velocity as well as longitudinal bulk wave velocity have been calculated in terms of their dependence on Poisson's ratio values. Calculations have been performed for isotropic media and the whole range of thermodynamically permissible values of Poisson's ratio. Possibility of approximation of the obtained result by means of polynomial functions has been investigated. !11
