An Effective Method for Analyzing the Effect of Structural Asymmetry on Dynamics of An Aircraft

An effective method for the analysis of asymmetric effects is presented in this paper. The method is a kind of"direction derivative" technique and can be easily applied to predict whether the structural asymmetry increases ordecreases the flutter speed of an aircraft with external stores. As a result, the varying tendency of the flutter speed canbe obtained, which is very useful to the designers. The validity and effectiveness of the proposed method are provedanalytically.
