A condition monitoirng system for mechanical seals

In spite of improvements of their reliability during the last ten years, mechanical seals can still be a major problem for some operators: - no information of the seal performance is available in the control room, - no real tool exists for predicting the seals status after a few weeks running. Studies of seal reliability indicate that a large proportion of seal failures are due to a lack of knowledge of the process conditions.
