Abstract: In this paper a.d.c. spectral model of the DFB laser is described. The description is based on the coupled wave theory for corrugated optical waveguides. The analysis is carried out in the spectral domain for a continuum of wavelengths. As such, the model is inherently capable of capturing the effects of all the longitudinal lasing and non-lasing modes. !7
