This paper summarizes a survey of current and emerging SHF/EHF integrated receiver component technologies examined for use by the Global Broadcast Service (GBS) receive terminals. ^In particular, it focuses on low noise block converters, amplifiers, and transistors suitable for mobile and transportable terminal millimeter-wave front-end applications. ^The paper primarily addresses SHF (3-30 GHz) technologies, although some examples in the EHF (30-300 GHz) range are included as well. ^First, brief descriptions of the GBS system and mission are presented, along with a description of the mobile receive terminal mission, to establish the context of the work. ^Next, receiver RF figures-of-merit and the low noise block converter function are outlined. ^Results of the technology survey follow, including selected examples of SHF/EHF low noise technology implementations. ^The paper concludes with comments on the outlook for extending mobile military terminal capabilities through technology insertion and the leveraging of advances made in the commercial arena. ^(Author)
