We, authors, have put the YAG laser of the kW class to practical use for repair welding of nuclear power plant steam generator heat exchanger tubes, all-position welding of pipings, etc. Further, we are now trying to put the YAG laser welding to practical use for various applications. This paper describes a variety of hybrid YAG laser welding systems developed for application to various products. These techniques are composed of power increase of the YAG laser, composition of the continuous and pulse oscillation beams, the beam composition technique from a number of optical fibers to one fiber, the twin beam welding, welding with the filler wire coaxial to the optical axis, and the TIG-YAG welding technique coaxial to the optical axis.
