The problem of audio tape recordings authetications for forensic purposes is presented and discussed. The procedures of tape recordigns authentication are presented and illustrated by means of performed experiments. The experiments, based mainly but not exclusively on electronic analyses of recorded signals, indicate that almost each manner of tape recording modification may be detected. Electronic editing of recording is, however, most difficult to detect.
