PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an authentication method using mail capable of safely performing a user authentication in a simple method by use of individual identification output and mail receiving function of a general browser phone and the access function to a WWW site of a PC.;SOLUTION: An optional terminal X accesses an authentication server A through a store server S to receive a session ID, and transmits the session ID and the mail address of the browser phone B (S1-S4). A stores a set of the session ID, the mail address and two generated onetime URLs, and transmits a confirmation mail including the link of the session ID and one of the onetime URLs to B (S6). B requests the transmission of a Web page designated in the onetime URL based on the matching confirmation between the session IDs of S1-S4 and S6 to A (S7). A derives the other onetime URL from the onetime URL of S7, and requests the transmission of the individual identification number (S8). A transmits the individual confirmation to S when the received individual identification number is matched to the preliminarily retained set of the mail address and individual identification number of B (S9 and 10).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
