The 'Stereo Dipole': Binaural Sound Reproduction using Two Closely Spaced Loudspeakers

摘要

A system comprising two closely spaced loudspeakers whose centres are less than 30cm apart can create very convincing virtual images in front of a single listener. The physical principles of the system are explained and the digital signal processing technology necessary for reproducing a pair of desired signals at the ears of the listener is briefly introduced.
