The large centrifugal compressor TC-201 is a key equipment of PTA process unit of which production is up to 225 000 tonnes annually at Shanghai Petrochemical Co. Ltd, China. There were some successive failures in recent years, they become the great obstacels of its normal operation. The detial analysis and diagnosis for its typical troubles are presented in this paper, and some practical beneficial proposals for the large machinery monitoring are suggested also.
