An expert system for diagnosing PZ12V190 engine's fault is built, in which the fuzzy reasoning in adopted due to the complexity and uncertainty of the diagnostic knowledge. The system consists of four main parts: 1. Knowledge Base. 2. reasoning machine. 3. DSP library. 4. Self-learning machine. On base of above four parts, this expert system can diagnose nearly fifty kinds of common fault of the PZ12V190 engine, and can maintain the K.B by the self-learning function.
