Abstract: A novel holographic method of making hard copies of a three- dimensional image from the computer data, the dot array rainbow hologram (DARH), is introduced and analyzed. The DARH is recorded dot by dot using a 1D liquid crystal panel and our proposed projection algorithm, and can reconstruct 3D image with horizontal parallax under white light illumination. The principle of making DARH and holo- animation are discussed. Preliminary experimental result showing effectiveness of this method is also presented. !14
