Operating experiences of the Nelson River HVDC system

This paper discusses unique, operation problems on the Nelson River HVDC system. They are: HVDC line faults; repeated commutation failures; filter reactor replacement; ferroresonance and DC neutral circuit resonances. Solutions to the problems are outlined.
