Abstract: The aim of the paper is to compare light scattering models in which the dispersed medium is illuminated by a plane wave (Lorenz-Mie Theory - LMT) and a laser beam (Generalized Lorenz-Mie Theory - GLMT), as well as to discuss the influence of such properties as real and imaginary part of the refractive index of the dispersed phase of the dispersed system on their quality. The quantity discussed is the volume scattering function belonging to the inherent optical properties of the examined medium.!19
