Interferometers without fringe patterns

Abstract: There are some optical arrangements closely resembling interferometric configurations. These, however, do not produce fringe patterns. An important characteristic of this device is that they do not have two different outputs with complementary patterns, but only one. Two of these configurations are described.!0
