摘要

The threat of global climate change has dramatically increased the attention directed towards understanding the environment and its naturally and anthropogenically-induced fluctuations. Semi-arid lands, especially those located in inner continental regions, may be some of the most sensitive to such change. By using remote sensing techniques to analyze the spectral characteristics of the landscape, and combining this with the spatial analytical capabilities of a Geographic Information System (GIS), the optimal parameters needed to detect the response of the landscape to climate change can be determined.
