The author describes how members of the electrical installation world, have been both far-seeing and fortunate over the years. Not only have the safety issues associated with electricity been identified from the inception of the industry but appropriate codes of practice and standards for equipment and installations have also been established. These have been under continuous development since the start of this area of engineering.
