The authors derive the symbol error probability for hard decisionclipper receivers in an environment with both band multitone jamming andbackground noise interference. Using the results, they evaluate pairwiseerror probabilities for coded systems using majority vote decision (MVD)decoding with or without jamming state information (JSI). They find theoptimum tone jamming strategies from the jammer's point of view andtheir worst case pairwise error probabilities from the communicator'spoint of view for various levels of background noise interference. It isfound that the performance for MVD decoding with JSI is better than thatfor MVD decoding without JSI when noise interference is low. This resultis reversed when noise interference is low. It is also found that theoptimum value of the clipping level is always less than the signalingpower level in low to moderate interference conditions
