The First Step to 1988 X.400 System

摘要

In many E-mail products confirming to the 1984 Version of CCITT X.400 Series of Recommendations on Message Bandling Systems(MHS-84)[1],the capacity of personal computers was not given full play and unnecessarily communucation charges were induced. The shortcoming has reduced the attraction of E-mail system to users of PCs. The problem was found a solution in 1988 version of CCITT X.400 Series of Recommendations(MHS-88)[2] with Message Store(MS) concept introduced.This paper suggests that the implementation of the remote User Agent(UA) associated with MS should be the first step of the migration to MHS-88, and describes a design of remote UA* based on EAN in detail.
