Metal-enclosed SF/sub 6/ gas insulated medium voltage switchgear incorporating vacuum circuit breakers

In addition to conventional air-insulated medium voltage switchboards, SF/sub 6/ gas insulated switchgear has secured a firm position on the market. Features and advantages of this new type of switchgear are illustrated and questions on secondary control technology are dealt with. Examples based on a new design are shown.
