Greening of Engineering Revisited

For the 2009 NAB Show I co-wrote a paperabout ‘greening of broadcast engineering’; the paper wastitled, GOT GREEN? AN ENGINEERS GUIDE. Greeningwas a growing trend at the time. Today, it is not new ortrendy, but it has become a standard part of our broadcastwork. In this paper, you will find green information thatbuilds upon common factors and at the conclusion,illustrates how Radio Free Asia (RFA) has moved forwardsince then by ‘greening our engineering’ in RFA’sWashington DC facilities. Everything from computers,studio lights, and even the use of paper towels are all servedby greener solutions today. All of which would not have beenpossible without RFA broadcast engineers employinggreener solutions; many of which you can apply too.
