Woven fabrics are widely used in flexible armor systems for protection against fragmentsand projectiles. But so far, few people focus on the shaped charge jet impact into fabric. Inorder to study the efficiency of Kevlar woven fabric added on the composite armor, theprotective ability of Kevlar woven fabric reinforced rubber composite armor (WFRCA) isevaluated using the DOP test method. The flash X-radiograph is used to visualize thedeformation of jets as they penetrated the Kevlar WFRCA. It is shown that Kevlar WFRCAcan substantially reduce the penetrative ability and disturb the moving jet and it can be usedas effective reinforcement for rubber composite armor. With respect to the deformation ofwoven fabric after the jet impact, the results indicate that for the Kevlar woven fabric, thedamage regions are similarly rhombic.
