A Comprehensive Framework for Usability Evaluation of Multimodal Mobile System

Smart phone, PSP, MP4 iPad are the main forms of mobile system with multimodal interfaces. This kind of product is widely used nowadays because of its multi-function, interactivity, and convenience. They providing users with brand new lifestyle, but at the mean time, there are raising concerns over its usability problems. Based on previous studies and general principles of usability engineering, a comprehensive way to determine the overall usabilty of multimodal interfaces is explored. A methodological framework is proposed to support designers and evaluators in creating and evaluating multimodal interfaces in mobile systems.
