The small-scale temporal variability of traffic-related pollutants within a street in Ji’nan, China was monitored at one permanent monitor station. Wind speed and direction were measured at the rooftop of the street and the street level at the same tim.,e. The NO concentration at monitor and traffic flux in the street were also recorded. The results showed that traffic pollution in the street canyon is characterized by large temporal variability, which is not only related to the diurnal variation in the traffic amount but also is influenced by the meteorological conditions, low winds and winds perpendicular to the street axis were identified as the worst dispersion conditions, and NO concentrations within the street decrease with wind speed at the roof.
