In order to make clear whether perceived control to the thermal environment can influence thermal comfort of the occupants, and whether this is a reason why the acceptable temperature range in naturally ventilated environment is wider than that in air-conditioned environment, a research based on experiments in climate chamber was conducted under the same thermal environment but different psychological environment. Perceived control can decrease thermal sensation vote TSV by 0.4~0.5, and improve thermal comfort vote TCV by 0.3~0.4. This improvement is achieved only by psychological factors. Costs for cooling have no remarkable influence on the occupant’s thermal sensation and thermal comfort in this experiment. Having perceived control can improve thermal comfort.
