Three liquid desiccant air-conditioning processes are analyzed and compared in this paper, with two of adiabatic types and one of internally-cooled type. Numerical model is established to investigate performance of the system, including heat and mass transfer model of packed dehumidifier and regenerator as well as internally-cooled or heated type, which is validated by experimental data available in literature. The results show that Process II with partial solution circulating has much better performance than Process I. Compared with the adiabatic types, Process III is superior in lower pump consumption, smaller heat recovery exchanger and lower heat pump consumption when well designed and manufactured. The internally-cooled process appears rather good performance, although the system is complex and requires high technical manufacture.
