In order to evaluate the Wearing Comfort Properties (WCP) of wadding reasonably, the properties of nine kinds of wadding were tested, including Thermal Insulation Property (TIP), fluffiness, compression recovery property, softness, the Temperature Rise of Far-infrared Radiation Property (TRFRP), and Air Permeability Property (APP). To establish fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model, the combination weighting method was used to calculate weight, and the order of WCP of nine kinds of wadding was obtained. Then using the Q-type hierarchical cluster algorithm and oneway ANOVA analysis to determine the optimal classification number and the performance of each category of the wadding. The results showed that: among nine kinds of wadding, the WCP of the new types of wadding is generally better than traditional types, and the coffee carbon fiber/ polyester wadding is the best while polyester wadding is the worst. According to cluster analysis, wadding can be classified into three categories. The first type is the excellent wadding, featured with medium APP, excellent TIP, softness and TRFRP, but low fluffiness; the second is good wadding, which is warm and fluffy, but the APP, softness and TRFRP are not ideal; the third type is moderate, which has good softness and high APP, but other properties are poor. The performance of first type of wadding can be further optimized by increasing the fluffiness.
