In the present study, we have presented the first results of the ionospheric response of the geomagnetic storm of 23rd June 2015 from the Arabian Peninsula. It is the second strongest storm of solar cycle 24, which is investigated using the ground-based total electron content (TEC) observational data from two IGS GPS stations located at Solar Village, Saudi Arabia and Yibal, Oman. Both reduction and significant enhancement have been observed during the recovery phase of the storm on 23rd June, which can be explained in terms of northward and southward truing of interplanetary magnetic field (IMF Bz) and penetration of over shielding and under shielding prompt penetration electric field (PPEF) during this period. The enhancement in the satellite-based O/N2 ratio data also supports the positive ionospheric storm effect during the recovery phase.
